  • What provision is made at elections for people with disabilities?

    Local authorities (and the Electoral Office for Northern Ireland) have to comply with the Disability Discrimination Act and other laws to make polling stations accessible for people with disabilities.

  • What provision is there at polling stations for blind voters?

    Tactile voting templates and large print versions of ballot papers are available at all polling stations. You can take a companion with you to assist you or ask the presiding officer at the polling station for help. Or, you could request a postal vote. Contact your local electoral registration office for more details.

  • What provision is there at polling stations for non-English speakers?

    All voting materials are in English only (and Welsh in Wales) – this is the law.
    However, there may be guidance notes in other languages. Contact your local elections office for more details.
